Still cleaning the….

…old fashioned way?

The Virus has changed everything. Even the way we clean house.

If you want to clean your house properly start with cleaning out those sometimes dangerous toxic products. Some things you might want to replace are things like chlorinated toilet bowl cleaners, drain cleaners containing sodium hydroxide, ammonia-based products, oven cleaners, and scouring powder. There are some great eco-cleaning products out there but here are a few things you might consider.

You might like to have on hand a vinegar-based cleaner for vertical surfaces like shower doors, walls, and faucets.

Start by whisking a half-cup of vinegar and one- and one-half tablespoons of cornstarch together in a saucepan, Place on medium heat for eight to ten minutes while stirring. When the mixture has thickened, allow it to cool. Store this in an airtight squeeze bottle. Need to clean up those backed on oven spills? Simply place an ovenproof bowl of water in a preheated oven and cook at 400 degrees for twenty minutes. The steam produced will loosen grease and drippings. When the oven has cooled wipe the oven down with a damp sponge.
