Here’s more……

On how to clean almost anything.

Today I want to talk about the germiest place in your home. Have you guessed it? Yep, it’s the kitchen and this information might just help someone like the one you see above to live healthy.

Your kitchen cutting board tops the list of most likely to contain such things as salmonella and E. coli. A recent report says that you are more likely to find more fecal bacteria on a cutting board than on a toilet seat. Hmmm, now I know where to prepare my sandwich. Next on the list of dangerous areas of bacteria is the sink. That is because we defrost raw chicken and meats in the sink and run water to clean away the leavings. Cutting up your salad in the sink is also a risk.

What should you do? Mix one tablespoon of weak bleach with a gallon of water. Use this to clean and sanitize kitchen drains and countertops. Clean faucet handles and put the strainers in the dishwasher at least weekly.

The next most dangerous thing is the kitchen sponge which can contain more E. coli than your toilet, cutting board or dishcloth. The solution is to replace the sponge every five or six days. Sorry microwave, dishwasher, and soaking won’t cut it. The only way to protect those you love is to replace it.
