Here’s a few tips from grandma.
If you have some baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice, and olive oil you have the makings of good homemade cleaning materials.
For cleaning windows use a spray bottle filled with half water and half vinegar. Spray it on, wipe it off, and see lovely clean windows.
If you want to sanitize White vinegar will kill bacteria, mold, and most germs. This is great for cutting boards and kitchen countertops. Simply dilute vinegar with some warm water spray the surfaces and let it dry before wiping it off.
Here’s a great all around cleaner. For stains or stubborn stains use baking soda mixed with lemon on a damp sponge. Or for general cleaning make a paste of baking soda on a sponge to create a abrasive cleaner for removing stubborn dirt.
Want to polish wood furniture? Mix two parts olive oil to one part lemon juice and whalla you have nice shiny furniture finish.
Want to clean carpets without the soppy wet condition. Sprinkle corn meal on the carpet and vacuum for a bright new look.
