Spring cleaning makes me wanna……

Pull my hair out.

Me too. But somebody’s gotta do it. So here are a few tips to get you started inside your home.

Let’s start with the hard part….the bathroom. Here’s something you don’t often do. Clean the shower head. Get rid of mineral deposits. If you can, remove the showerhead and soak in vinegar. If you can’t remove the head pour the liquid in a ziplock or plastic bag put it on the showerhead and tie a twist tie to secure it. Let it soak overnight. Now let’s clean the toilet. Mix baking soda and water into a paste and apply to bowl inside and out. Get under the rim. Some say putting an antacid tablet into the bowl will clean and disinfect. I don’t know, but it’s worth a try. While you have the baking soda handy sprinkle some in the sink and wipe with a damp soft cloth. Use an old toothbrush and baking soda to clean the drain and rinse. While you’re at it wipe the mirrors with a soft moist cloth.

Since the baking soda is handy why not clear your bed of bedding and sprinkle the baking soda over the mattress. It removes odor and freshens the bed. Let it sit for a couple hours and vacuum. While the vacuum is available use it to clean under the bed, dresser, etc.

Now to the living room. Use a duster or lint roller to pick up pet hair from furniture and things like lampshades. Remove cushions and vacuum. Coconut oil is great for nearly all wood surfaces. When cleaning overhead fans be sure you use something to catch the debris. If wiping baseboards use a common dryer sheet to pick up dust and pet hair while helping to prevent it from recurring.
